Meet Jon Ridler

I’m Jon Ridler, and I’m running for mayor because I’ve spent 20 years making Arlington Heights a place where families like mine—and yours—thrive. Since 2004, as the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce executive director, I’ve worked with businesses, nonprofits, and village leaders to strengthen our community. I’ve championed small businesses because they’re our heartbeat. As mayor, I’ll grow them with 0% interest loans and public-private partnerships like Harmony Fest, boosting revenue to stabilize property taxes. You’ve told me levy hikes hurt; I’ll ease that with smart growth.

I deliver results, not just talk. I expanded Harmony Fest from a one-day event into a two-day festival, uniting residents with local businesses and enhancing our economic vitality. During COVID, I acted fast—connecting residents to services and helping businesses secure funding. I served eight years on the Economic Alliance Commission and advocated at village meetings, bringing hands-on experience to every challenge. Now, with Arlington Park’s future on everyone’s mind, I’ll apply that expertise to make it a win for us—Bears or not. My 20 years of building partnerships and driving economic growth mean I’ll negotiate a redevelopment that delivers revenue for our community, not just benefits for developers, keeping our small-town charm intact.

I’m a unifier. My wife, Sharon, and I moved here in 2013 with our four kids, raising them in this community we love.  I’ve chosen not to seek endorsements, focusing instead on bridging board factions with collaborative leadership. I’ll create a community forum where you—legacy builders and new voices—can shape our future together.

What’s in it for you? A vibrant Arlington Heights where families thrive. I’ll tie infrastructure fixes to growth, not tax hikes, back our police and fire departments with resources, and spread more local events across uptown and south town. Listening to this community has shaped me into a leader who’s ready to make tough calls for the greater good.

I’m here for you, not private interests. Vote for me, and let’s build a resilient, inclusive Arlington Heights together.
